ERICA DEE & FRIENDS Weaving Voices
featuring: Featuring Tonye, Miss Christie Lee, Janelle Reid, Sara Cadeau, Sean Mitchell, and Jonny Tobin
7:00 PM

Weaving Voices is an opportunity to experience a unique tapestry of melodies, rhythms and storytelling. Erica Dee has curated this performance based on her singing workshop “Sing for the Soul”. Dee believes singing in community is one of the most incredible actions we can take toward social change. When we sing we are vulnerable, open and connected. We use our entire bodies and spirits to transmit frequencies and share creativity. Some of Vancouver’s most prolific and revolutionary vocal artists come together to explore each other’s creations and support each other in harmonization and improvisation. This will be the first time that Christie, Tonye, Janelle and Dee come together to create in this way, and they will be supported by multi-instrumentalist Jonny Tobin and Sean Mitchell on Drums. Weaving voices is an invitation of harmonization, improvisation, and connection.

CJ SANTANARecovering Empath 101
6:00 – 8:30 PM

Are you continuously attracting people/situations that do not resonate with your highest self? People/experiences that challenge your boundaries and personal values? The truth is, this will keep on happening until we have integrated the lessons these people/experiences are here to teach us. In a world of multiple inboxes, endless notifications and filtered photos it is easy to dismiss the guidance of our own intuition and therefore become more and more disconnected from each other. Thankfully the love and patience of our soul/inner wisdom/intuition is infinite. Using the magic of symbols and a little help from spirit guides we can began a conversation with your deepest truth. Join me at Recovering Empath 101, a playful and loving opportunity to experience interconnectedness through conversation and cards.

ALL-DAY INSTALLATIONS

MILDRED GRACE GERMAN – Healing at Crab Park

Arrangements of paintings on display presenting the artist’s message on the need of a healing centre in Crab Park will be installed on easels for the public to see. In addition to these paintings, there will be hundreds of paper boats made of recycled paper and newspapers, painted red to commemorate the loss of the DTES and Metro Vancouver impacted by poverty, homelessness, police violence, opioid-crisis, overdoses, and murdered and missing women. These red paper boats will spell “HEAL DTES” and will be visible to all the commercial planes landing close to Crab Park.

Crab Park has been a community destination for many DTES residents, residents of Metro Vancouver, and many tourists. With the proposed expansion of the Centerm Container Terminal, Crab Park, DTES Vancouver will be ruined. The people of the DTES are fighting to stop the expansion and instead build a healing centre at Crab Park.
